FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER PROGRAM

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) is a federal immigration program in Canada designed to attract highly skilled workers to help fill gaps in the Canadian labour market. It is one of the three programs managed by the Express Entry system, alongside the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.

To apply for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, you will need to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Work experience
You must have at least one year of full-time, paid work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years. The work experience must be at Skill Type 0, Skill Level A or B according to the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.
Language proficiency
You must demonstrate language proficiency in either English or French through a language test approved by the Canadian government.
Education
You must have a Canadian secondary or post-secondary degree or a foreign educational credential assessed by an approved organization.
Age
You must be under 47 years of age at the time of your application.
Adaptability
You must have sufficient settlement funds, and you must score at least 67 points on the FSWP points grid.
Once you have determined that you meet the eligibility criteria, you will need to submit an Express Entry profile and receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for permanent residence. The FSWP is a highly competitive program, and it is essential to maximize your points by improving your language proficiency, gaining more work experience, and increasing your education level.
